Candle to Candle (C2C) Program Overview

The Candle to Candle (C2C) Program by People’s REACH Foundation (PRF) aims to empower students in “highly employable” fields, providing them with the means to secure a promising career path and eventually give back by sponsoring future students. Funded entirely by individual donors, PRF’s C2C program is more than just a scholarship—it offers extensive academic, personal, and career support, welcoming students as part of the PRF family. Full sponsorship for the study duration is prioritized, covering academic and living expenses where possible, to ensure students have the resources to succeed.

Sponsorship Criteria and Eligibility

Student Requirements: Students applying for the program must demonstrate both financial need, which must be documented and verified, and academic merit to qualify for sponsorship.

Fields of Study: The C2C Program currently supports students in fields with high employability, including Engineering and Technology, Medical Degree Programs, and Accountancy/Business. Additional fields may be considered for inclusion in the future.

Level and Institutions: The program is designed exclusively for undergraduate studies and gives preference to students attending high-ranking public universities.

Program Commitment and Process

Once selected, students will sign a formal agreement with PRF, committing fully to the requirements of the C2C Program. They are expected to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25, providing progress reports each quarter or semester. Should a student withdraw from the program, they must reimburse PRF for the funds received. After graduation, students are encouraged to stay connected with PRF by keeping the foundation updated on their employment status, attending annual PRF meetings, and assisting the next sponsored student in the same way they were supported.

Funding Disbursement: Funds for major expenses, such as books, tuition, and other academic needs, are disbursed directly to institutions or to the student’s personal bank account, with receipts required for documentation. Exceptions are made for pocket money and other minor expenses, which do not require receipts.

The Next Candle – Paying It Forward

Graduates are expected to support future students at the same level they once received, continuing the cycle of assistance. Contribution Details are mutually set between PRF and graduates, establishing the amount, start date, and completion date for each graduate’s contribution toward sponsoring the next student. This commitment ensures the ongoing impact of the Candle to Candle Program.
