We are at this position of prosperity today because PRF stood by us, stepping in to lift the burden of our education when it mattered most.
In remembrance
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
First and foremost, I offer my deepest prayers for my beloved father, who is no longer with us. May Allah shower millions of blessings upon his resting place, illuminate his grave, and grant him the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdaus. The boundless kindness, love, and sacrifices he bestowed upon us are debts I can never repay in my lifetime.
Where the journey began
My roots trace back to the village of Chak No. 157 G.B., located on the outskirts of Gojra, where I completed my matriculation. Driven by a desire for higher education, I moved to Lahore to pursue my FSc (Pre-Engineering). Because my brother and I were completing our college education simultaneously, the financial burden of academic fees became incredibly heavy for our father. Yet, he never faltered or lost heart. Demonstrating immense courage, he secured a loan from a trusted friend to ensure our studies were never interrupted.
Thanks to his resilience, we both excelled and gained admission into prestigious universities. I was accepted into the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, while my elder brother secured admission at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Karachi.
While this was a moment of immense pride, managing the university tuition and hostel expenses for two sons in different cities concurrently seemed an impossible financial hill to climb for my father.
Meeting PRF
In our moment of greatest need, Allah Almighty made a miracle happen. It was during this critical juncture that my father crossed paths with Uncle Rashid Ahmad.
Uncle Rashid Ahmad took a profound interest in our academic journeys. After gathering all the necessary details from my father, he reassured him with absolute certainty that financial constraints would never stand in the way of our future. He promised that he and his family would bear the entirety of our educational expenses. That vision subsequently became People’s REACH Foundation (PRF).
This unexpected blessing brought immense joy and relief to my father’s heart. Thanks to the unwavering financial patronage of PRF, I was able to focus entirely on my studies and successfully graduated with a degree in Computer Engineering in 2013.
Building in Pakistan
Following my graduation, I gained valuable professional experience working in Pakistan for a year. Looking for broader horizons, I relocated to Saudi Arabia, where my friend and I successfully launched our own business enterprise. After five rewarding years of hard work abroad, I returned home to Pakistan with a vision to invest in my own country.
Today, I am proud to have established a thriving agricultural and livestock business in Pakistan, which includes a double-story controlled poultry shed with a capacity of 70,000 birds, and a modern dairy farm stocked with 65 premium, imported Holstein Friesian cows from the United States.
Alhamdulillah, it brings me profound joy and humility to share that our enterprise now provides meaningful employment to 25 workers, helping them sustain their families and run their households.
None of this would have been possible without the foundational support we received during our darkest hours. We are at this position of prosperity today because PRF stood by us, stepping in to lift the burden of our education when it mattered most.
Lighting the next candle
In pursuit of the true spirit of the Candle to Candle (C2C) program, I have already started to support, through PRF, the university education of an extremely bright and hardworking student who belongs to a family with very limited financial resources. I hope this series of candles will continue to change the lives of future generations.
I pray to Allah Almighty to grant boundless progress, prosperity, and blessings to PRF, Uncle Rashid Ahmad, and every single individual associated with this noble organization.
Ameen
